The Cowboys parted ways with Vizcaino on Monday, leaving former USFL kicker Brandon Aubrey as the only kicker on the roster. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team is “excited” about what they’ve seen from Aubrey so far and said the team is “comfortable going into the season with him.” Vizcaino has appeared in 10 NFL games throughout his career, going 15-for-20 on field goal attempts and 10-for-10 on extra point tries. He’ll likely get another chance to compete for a job in another team’s camp.

Former place kicker Brett Maher remains a free agent after the team failed to extend his contract this offseason, leaving Tristan Vizcaino as the only kicker currently on the roster. "We don't see the guy we want to (pull the) trigger on, yet," Cowboys right hand man Stephen Jones said on Monday. It appears that camp competition will be added at some point but the team's search for their next kicker seems far from over.

The team is expected to go with Maher heading into the Divisional Round against the Eagles, but Vizcaino could be active on game day for added insurance.
