Commanders waived CB Danny Johnson.
Kyu Blu Kelly was claimed off waivers from the Packers in a corresponding move. Johnson signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the Commanders this offseason. Johnson had 17 tackles and one pass breakup while also contributing on special teams. He will likely clear waivers and become a free agent.

Johnson will earn $2.75 million in guaranteed money on his new deal, as the Commanders bring back a long-time member of their defense and special teams unit. Johnson Has been lightly used on the defensive side of the ball through five seasons but earned a PFF coverage grade of 80.1 on 292 snaps last season.
