Cardinals placed RB Darrel Williams (hip) on injured reserve.
Williams just returned from a two-week knee issue last Sunday against the Vikings and now will miss at least the next four games. One would assume James Conner (ribs) will be back this week, but Arizona also has Keaontay Ingram alongside Eno Benjamin.
Darrel Williams (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Williams missed Weeks 6 and 7 with a knee issue before returning last week against the Vikings, handling seven touches on 27% of the snaps. James Conner (ribs) was limited Wednesday.
Darrel Williams rushed five times for eight yards in the Cardinals' Week 8 loss to the Vikings.
Williams served as Eno Benjamin's backup in this game. It was his first game back from a knee injury, but Benjamin's strong showing as the starter a week ago likely secured him the No. 2 gig when James Conner is healthy. Williams isn't on the fantasy radar heading into Week 9.
Darrel Williams (knee) is active for Week 8 against the Vikings.
The Cardinals declared RB James Conner, LT D.J. Humphries, OL Max Garcia, C Rodney Hudson, LB Dennis Gardeck, CB Christian Matthew, and QB Trace McSorley inactive. Williams is playing after missing a pair of games because of the knee injury. Eno Benjamin will start, but Williams could take some work away from him. Benjamin sits at the end of the RB2 ranks for his Week 8 matchup with Minnesota.
