Reaves’ season ended early in 2023 when he suffered a partially torn ACL in Week 5. The veteran safety normally plays a mix of defense and special teams but hadn’t logged a defensive snap on the year before going down with the injury. Even if he is only a special teamer these days, Reaves is a key contributor in that regard and was on pace to log over 300 special teams snaps for the second year in a row.

Reaves suffered a partially torn ACL in the Commanders’ Week 5 loss against the Bears and was initially placed on injured reserve. Now set to undergo surgery, the Commanders’ special teams ace will miss the remainder of the 2023 season but should recover in time to training camp next season. Reaves signed a one-year contract earlier this offseason but could soon earn a long-term contract from the Commanders.

Reaves suffered a head injury Week 8 against Minnesota, and he now appears back to full health. He's set for his usual depth role versus the Bills on Sunday.

It remains to be seen if Reaves is in concussion protocol, but if that is the case he'll have to pass league protocol testing before he can take the field again. For the remainder of the contest, look for Troy Apke and Landon Collins to hold down the fort at safety.
