Bengals re-signed DT B.J. Hill to a three-year, $33 million contract.
$16 million of this is guaranteed per Adam Schefter. Hill has played for the Bengals the last four years and been a relatively stable piece inside, notching PFF defensive grades between 67.7 and 70.9 over his tenure in Cincinnati. He has 21 sacks in four seasons with the Bengals. Entering his age-30 season, Hill hasn’t lost a step yet. The Bengals will hope he can hold up for (likely) at least the next two years inside.
Bengals DL B.J. Hill (knee) is questionable for Week 11 against the Chargers.
Hill has proven himself as a difference-making interior pass rusher, whose early-season absence allowed opponents to bully the Bengals’ front seven. Among 62 NFL interior defenders with at least 140 pass-rushing snaps, Hill ranks 19th in pass-rush win rate (11.5 percent). Hopefully, both Hill and DE Trey Hendrickson (neck) can suit up on Sunday.
Bengals DL B.J. Hill (hamstring) is doubtful for Week 3 against the Commanders.
Hill was unable to practice in any capacity throughout the week, ultimately drawing the doubtful tag from head coach Zac Taylor. Hill played a massive 80% of the team’s defensive snaps in Week 1 before suffering the hamstring injury in Week 2, representing a massive blow to the front end of the Bengals’ defense.
Bengals DL B.J. Hill (hamstring) did not practice Friday.
The Bengals’ pushover run defense is now dealing with a pair of injuries on their interior defensive line. Both Hill and Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) have failed to practice thus far this week. The Commanders will likely attempt to impose their will on the ground if both players are inactive.
