Jets signed DT Derrick Nnadi, formerly of the Chiefs.
Nnadi was a six-year starter for the Chiefs, but was relegated to a lightly-used backup last season. The veteran tackle started just one of the 17 games he appeared in while posting a career-low 11 tackles on 221 defensive snaps — also a career-low. He’ll be 29 at the start of next season, and could have a chance to earn a more significant role with the Jets in camp.
Chiefs re-signed DT Derrick Nnadi.
Two months shy of his 28th birthday, Nnadi is a rotational run-stuffer who did not hold up particularly well against the run last season. He is a big presence in the middle of the interior.
Chiefs DT Derrick Nnadi (tricep) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Nnadi missed the Chiefs’ Divisional Round win over the Bills after starting in every regular season game and the Wild Card win over the Dolphins. With the Ravens’ bruising running game coming up in the AFC Championship game, Nnadi’s injury is key to monitor. S Mike Edwards (concussion) was the other Chiefs defender to not practice on Wednesday.
Chiefs re-signed NT Derrick Nnadi to an undisclosed contract.
Nnadi is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, grading out with a career-low 51.3 PFF rating, but has had more success than that in his playing history and won't turn 26 until May. Pending terms, it's a nice keep for a Chiefs team that has quietly done some good work in free agency.
