Adams signed with the Lions’ practice squad after being released by Tennessee earlier this season. He was called up for two games a few weeks ago and logged three total tackles on 20 defensive snaps. Adams could sign with another team as a depth option, though he appears to be running out of options at the age of 29.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the expectation is that Adams will be elevated to the Lions’ roster. Adams signed with the Titans in the offseason but was limited by a hip issue during his short-lived stint in Tennessee. He only took the field for 20 snaps across three games with the Titans. Adams will be a depth option for an elite Lions secondary.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams “is healthy and looking forward to his next opportunity.” The veteran safety did not play in Week 6 due to a reported hip injury, and has appeared in just two games this season. Adams has a lengthy injury history and has played on just 17 defensive snaps this season. Until he can stay on the field and show some durability, it’s hard to view Adams as anything more than added depth wherever he lands next.

Adams has struggled with a slew of injuries for years, last playing a full season in 2018. He has only appeared in 12 games since the start of the 2022 season. Adams has four tackles across three games this year, only one of which was a start.
