Kenyan Drake retired after eight seasons in the NFL.
Drake made the announcement via a photo collage Instagram post, saying “he wouldn’t change a thing” about his time in the NFL. He finishes his career with 5,521 yards from scrimmage and 41 total touchdowns.
The Packers released Kenyan Drake from their practice squad.
The Packers signed Drake to their practice squad just over a month ago. He appeared in one game for them, logging a lone carry for zero yards. Drake also spent time with the Browns and Ravens this year. He will enter his age-30 season looking for a one-year deal as a backup in the offseason.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Packers have signed Kenyan Drake to their practice squad.
No word yet on what this means for Aaron Jones’ status, but for now it looks like a depth signing. Drake last played with Ravens until he was released in October of this season. If Aaron Jones misses another game, don’t be shocked to see Drake working behind AJ Dillon.
Ravens released RB Kenyan Drake.
Drake never figured to be long for the Ravens after the team signed him in late-September following multiple injuries to their running back room. The veteran running back appeared in two games for the Ravens this season, turning four opportunities into 31 yards — all coming in the same game. At 29-years old, Drake’s best days are almost certainly behind him, but he could still pop up on another roster or return to the Ravens should a need arise.
