Dolphins signed CB Artie Burns, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year contract.
Burns was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The nine-year vet has spent the last three seasons with the Seahawks, starting just one of the 21 games he appeared in while totaling 27 tackles and five pass breakups. Burns has started double-digit games just once in his career and shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a depth signing for the Dolphins ahead of next season.
Seahawks re-signed CB Artie Burns to the practice squad.
This is the third Burns-related transaction for the Seahawks in the last four days. The former rotational player rejoins a Seahawks team he initially signed with in 2022. Burns is unlikely to vault into a high-volume rotational role but he could chip in here and there.
Seahawks placed CB Artie Burns (toe) on injured reserve.
He left Thursday night’s loss to the 49ers — his only game so far this year — and did not return. Burns, 29, had two passes defensed and one tackle in the game. Seattle will need to find another depth corner.
Seahawks CB Artie Burns suffered a toe injury in Seattle’s Week 6 game against the 49ers and will not return.
Burns was just elevated to the active roster before the game. His loss is bad news for a secondary that lost Tre Brown earlier in the contest.
