Bills signed EDGE Joey Bosa, formerly of the Chargers, to a one-year, $12.6 million contract.

Bosa was being pursued by the 49ers and Dolphins after being released by the Chargers, but ultimately the Bills were able to land the 29-year-old sack artist. Bosa has dealt with injuries over the past three years, but he was still able to pick up 34 quarterback pressures in 2024. He’ll be tasked with getting to the quarterback with Buffalo, and he’ll join Gregory Rousseau along with AJ Epenesa and recently-acquired defender Michael Hoecht to form one of the better pass-rushing groups in the AFC.

The Athletic’s Michael Silver reports that “the 49ers and Dolphins have each made offers to free agent edge rusher Joey Bosa in the same relative price range.”

Silver adds that Bosa would “get less than $10 million in 2025 in either scenario.” Bosa has missed multiple games due to injury in each of the last three seasons, most recently sitting out Weeks 3-7 after suffering a Week 2 hip injury. The talented 29-year-old still racked up five regular season sacks and 34 quarterback pressures; the latter being his highest sum since 2021. These offers are perhaps a tad light but Bosa may take the opportunity to lineup opposite his brother, Nick Bosa, with the 49ers, regardless.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports free agent EDGE Joey Bosa is expected to garner interest from the Dolphins.

Bosa was released by the Chargers last week and is receiving interest around the league. The 49ers are reported to be talking to the 29-year-old, and now the Dolphins are expected to be interested in him as well. Bosa has 72 career sacks and would bolster a Dolphins defensive line that was No. 27 in the league in sacks last season. His biggest question mark is staying healthy, while the Dolphins dealt with injuries to edge rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb in 2024.

49ers beat writer Tim Kawakami reports the 49ers “are having good conversations” with free agent EDGE Joey Bosa.

Just days after being released by the Chargers, Bosa could soon find a new home in the Bay Area. According to Kawakami, the conversation between the two sides “feels like it’s headed toward a deal,” but nothing is imminent at this time. Bosa appeared in 14 games for the Chargers last season while recording five sacks and five TFLs. The veteran pass rusher has appeared in just 28 games over the last three seasons due to a multitude of injuries, but could still bounce back in 2025 as he enters his age 30 season. Bosa signing with the 49ers would pair him with his brother, Nick Bosa, who is entering his seventh season with the team and coming off a nine sack season.
