Texans signed OT Trent Brown, formerly of the Bengals, to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Brown must recover from a season-ending knee injury suffered on September 23rd, 2024. Assuming he can return to form, though, this is a great signing for the Texans. Brown is an extremely accomplished offensive tackle, with 3,005 snaps logged at left tackle and another 1,579 at right tackle. He can play effectively both as in pass protection and as a run blocker.

Brown on Monday night against the Commanders suffered a serious knee injury and was carted to the locker room. The injury will require surgery and sideline Brown for the remainder of the 2024 season. It’s a big blow to a Bengals offensive line graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s 16th best pass blocking unit and seventh worst run blocking unit.
Bengals OT Trent Brown (knee) was carted off in the second quarter in Week 3 against the Commanders.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Bengals have signed Trent Brown, formerly of the Patriots, to a one-year deal.
Brown has found a new home in protecting Joe Burrow. The tackle moves to Cincinnati after spending three straight seasons with the Patriots. Brown started eight games for New England in 2023 and looks to provide the Bengals with more stabilization along the offensive line.
