Hundley signed with the Ravens in May but was released during training camp. Jake Luton was released from the Saints' practice squad earlier in the day, creating an opening for Hundley. The UCLA alum hasn't taken a regular season snap since 2019.

Hundley played with the Colts in 2021 but was released in November when the Colts decided to move forward with Sam Ehlinger as their backup. Hundley is unlikely to displace Tyler Huntley as the Ravens' backup but will provide the Ravens with an extra arm with Lamar Jackson sitting out of voluntary OTAs.

With Jacob Eason also released as of two weeks ago, Sam Ehlinger will now serve as the Colts' backup to Carson Wentz. Ehlinger was activated from injured reserve recently and is now up to speed after being sidelined for the start of the season with a knee injury. Ehlinger is a sixth-round rookie from Texas who is top three in Longhorns’ history in most passing categories, including yards (11,436) and touchdowns (94). 

Carson Wentz will be a game time decision on Sunday, and has a good chance to start. At the very least, Hundley provides the Colts with in-game insurance if Wentz can't finish the game. If Wentz can't play, it's possible that Hundley gets the start, which would be his first since 2017. The Colts also elevated WR DeMichael Harris.
