D.J. Alexander
Player News
Alexander (foot) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Alexander suffered the foot injury during Sunday's win over the Bengals and will now be sidelined for at least the next eight weeks. Joe Giles-Harris, Malcolm Smith and Donald Payne were signed to provide added linebacker depth.
Alexander sustained a foot injury and is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals.
The game is in the closing stages of the fourth quarter, making it increasingly unlikely Alexander retakes the field. The reserve linebacker's absence is unlikely to significantly impact the Jaguars' defense in the final minutes Sunday.
Alexander (hamstring) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game at Carolina, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
The 28-year-old sustained the hamstring injury Week 2 and missed the last two games, but he's good to go for Sunday's contest. Alexander should return to his reserve role at weakside linebacker for the Jaguars.
Alexander (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's game in Denver, Hays Carlyon of 1010 AM WJXL reports.
Alexander is working his way back from a hamstring injury suffered Week 2, and he isn't yet ready to retake the field. As long as Alexander remains sidelined, Najee Goode and Austin Calitro are expected to receive increased reserve snaps at the linebacker position.
