Husain Abdullah
Player News
Husain Abdullah has announced he has retired from football.
Abdullah spent seven years playing in the league between the Vikings and the Chiefs but has a long concussion history including suffering his fifth one in 2015. At 30 years of age he has decided to move on to other things in his life at this point.
Husain Abdullah (concussion) practiced in full on Thursday.
This is great news for the Chiefs as Abdullah was able to practice for the first time this week. It appears as though he has been cleared by the NFL's concussion protocol and will be on the field on Saturday against the Texans.
Husain Abdullah (concussion) is close to returning, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Abdullah has yet to be fully cleared via the league's concussion protocol and has now missed the last four games with the head injury. While he may be getting close, the Chiefs will continue to play it safe with him and hope for a return in the playoffs. Daniel Sorensen has been filling in for him in the meantime and will continue to see the snaps should he not be cleared.
Husain Abdullah has been ruled out for Week 16.
Abdullah has been out since suffering a concussion in Week 11. He's without a firm timetable for return, and may not end up returning at all this season. Daniel Sorensen will be the team's second string free safety behind Eric Berry at free safety.
