Alterraun Verner

Verner is listed as questionable after missing practice all week due to personal matters, and today announced that his father has passed away. He issued a statement stating that he will play on Sunday to honor his father, Robert Lee Verner. He'll play a big role in a tough matchup with the Seahawks.

Verner is the Bucs best corner and it's good to see him back on the practice field Thursday after missing Wednesday's session. Verner has 33 tackles and 1 interception on the season. It's looking like he'll be active this weekend.

After playing his way back into a starting role, Alterraun Verner was held out of practice due to a foot injury on Wednesday. Verner had eight solo tackles and an interception against the Giants and went up against Odell Beckham for Tampa Bay. Hopefully he can be ready to play on Sunday as the Buccaneers will probably have him up against Dez Bryant in another tough match-up for the cornerback.

Verner has missed the last two games with the hamstring issue and was only able to log a limited practice Thursday. While he may not miss the game, it is doubtful that he sees a regular number of snaps this week. Rashaan Melvin should see some extra work again.
