Bears declared QB Tyler Bray, DB Sherrick McManis, RB Artavis Pierce, OL Arlington Hambright, DT Daniel McCullers, and WR Riley Ridley inactive for Week 4 against the Colts.
Pierce was just signed after the season-ending torn ACL by Tarik Cohen.
Bears re-signed QB Tyler Bray.
It only makes sense following the loss of legendary career-backup Chase Daniel. Bray hasn't thrown a regular season pass since 2017 but is at the very least familiar with coach Matt Nagy's offense — a trait that was likely favored given the inability to hold physicals and tryouts at this time. Bray will land as Chicago's third-string option behind Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles, not necessarily in that order.
The Bears signed Bray to the practice squad Thursday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
This was an expected move after the Bears cut Bray on Wednesday. The expectation in Chicago is that Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) will be healthy to suit up against the Saints in Week 7, so Bray doesn't stand to rejoin the 53-man roster unless plans go awry.
The Bears cut Bray on Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM Radio reports.
This move supports the notion that Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) will be ready for Week 7's game versus the Saints. Bray will likely return to the Bears' practice squad, and he could be brought back up if Trubisky suffers a setback.
