Curtis Painter

With Ryan Nassib as the clear cut backup to Eli Manning, Painter became expendable as the deadline to slim down rosters to 53 men draws near. Even if he is able to sign with a new team there is no chance he ever becomes a starting quarterback in the NFL.

The recovery should not impact Painter being able to participate in training camp but he is 29 now and has not impressed anywhere he\'s been in the NFL. The Giants currently have four quarterbacks with Manning, Paint, Freeman and second-year pro Ryan Nassib. It will be an interesting battle as to how the depth chart shakes out after Eli.
