Shaun Hill
Player News
Mike Zimmer says he hasn't made a decision yet but Shaun Hill is still listed as the starting QB.
It all comes down to how well Sam Bradford can pick up the playbook and Norv Turner's offense. Bradford only had the playbook for eight days prior to Week 1 and Zimmer felt that he needed more work before throwing him out there. He'll definitely be taking a major share of first-team snaps this week, so while Hill is still listed atop the team's depth chart, the Vikings would like to get Bradford under center as quickly as possible. Should Hill start in Week 2, he's going to need to look a lot better in the passing game facing division rival Green Bay.
Shaun Hill will start for the Vikings in Week 1.
Since the Vikings just acquired Sam Bradford, they don't want to rush him into anything without a full grasp of the playbook. Hill has even with the team all preseason so he's the best fit for Week 1. Hill isn't much of a fantasy option as he'll be handing the ball off to Adrian "All Day" Peterson for most of the afternoon.
Shaun Hill is not expected to play in the Vikings' preseason finale Thursday.
The Vikings won’t play many of their starters in the fourth preseason game and due to Teddy Bridgewater’s injury; Hill is now the starting quarterback. Hill didn’t play much in the third preseason game so the Vikings are trusting the veteran knows how to get ready for the season without getting a true game to prepare for Week 1.
Shaun Hill's deal with the Vikings is worth $6.5 million over two years ($3 million guaranteed).
It's a nice sum for Hill who will now serve as a back-up and potential mentor for starter Teddy Bridgewater. Hill won;t see the field unless thre's a major injury.
