Bears placed Will Sutton on injured reserve.
Chicago Bears nose tackle Will Sutton left Sundays game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an ankle injury, and didn't return. After being evaluated, he emerged Monday in a walking boot, and it was decided on Tuesday that he would be placed on the teams injured reserve list.
Will Sutton left the locker room after Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers with a boot on his left foot.
He logged four tackles before leaving in the third quarter. The injury bug keeps hitting the Bears as hard as any other team in the league.
Will Sutton announced as the starting nose tackle Sunday, not Eddie Goldman.
There was talk of Goldman edging out Sutton for the starting job but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was impressed with Sutton's work on the line and his run-stuffing abilities. Of course, he can also rush the passer pretty well, something the Bears are hoping to do as they look at the impossible task of containing Aaron Rodgers.
Chicago Bears DT Will Sutton has agreed to a four-year contract.
While he\'s got good instincts and can make his way through the hands of opposing offensive lineman, the 22-year-old defensive tackle out of Arizona State doesn\'t really have great size, speed or strength. He got by on a lot of guile but that\'s not going to help him much in the NFL.
