Ziggy Hood
Player News
Hood recorded one tackle (one solo) and a sack in the Saints' 16-13 loss to the Dolphins in Thursday's preseason finale.
Hood has played for four different teams in his 10-year career, most recently appearing in 13 contests with Washington and Miami last season. He has a chance to find a new home on a title contender if he makes the final 53-man roster.
Hood signed a contract with the Saints on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Hood figures to provide the Saints with defensive line depth and veteran experience. The 10-year veteran appeared in 13 games between the Dolphins and Redskins in 2018, compiling nine tackles (four solo). Hood will work to earn a reserve role in New Orleans and isn't a lock to make the 53-man roster.
Hood (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Hood has been dealing with the hamstring issue for the last couple weeks and was a limited participant at practice. Rookie Kendrick Norton was signed last week and brings added depth to defensive tackle should Hood be unable to suit up Sunday.
Washington has signed DE Ziggy Hood to a one-year deal.
Hood played only two games for the Bears in the 2015 season and has only started 46 games of the possible 98 games he has been on a roster for in his NFL career. This move seems to be just for some organizational depth at best and doesn't affect the fantasy value for any of the skill position players for the Redskins going into the 2016 season.
