Phil Taylor
Player News
Redskins signed Phil Taylor to a reserve/future contract.
This is mostly a shot in the dark by Washington. Taylor was a 1st round draft pick for the Browns in 2011 and spent 4 years there. He was out of the league in 2015, but was signed by Denver last offseason, but suffered a season ending injury that forced Denver to release him. The Redskins now own Taylor's rights and hope they'll be able to get him healthy enough so he can contribute next season.
Broncos have released DT Phillip Taylor from injured reserve and he is now a free agent.
Taylor has been a relative bust, but largely it is due to his injury history. Hopefully he can get back on track and a team will give him a shot before the summer is over.
Broncos have placed NT Phil Taylor on injured reserve.
After being carted off the field on Friday, Taylor's MRI on his left knee was negative so it's a bit shocking that Taylor would be put on IR. The Broncos went ahead and signed Billy Winn to replace Taylor on the defensive line. Just because Taylor has been placed on IR doesn't mean his season is over. Teams are allowed to bring 1 player back from the injured reserve list. Due to Taylor's injury history it seems unlikely that he'll play this season as he missed 20 games total from 2012-2014 and didn't play at all in 2015.
The MRI came back negative on Phil Taylor's injured knee.
Also suffering an injury Friday was Broncos defensive tackle Phil Taylor. He went with Sylvester Williams Saturday to receive an MRI on his knee and it too came back negative. Coach Gary Kubiak said they thought they might even have Taylor back Saturday, but it's likely he'll be on the field for the next practice.
