Terrence Cody
Player News
Terrence Cody has been sentenced to nine months in prison for animal cruelty.
Cody was charged in the starvation of his pet dog as well as neglect of his pet alligator. Cody is currently a free-agent and given the NFL's new personal conduct policy he will certainly face a lengthy suspension following his jail sentence if any teams would even consider signing him.
Ravens announced that they have released DT Terrence Cody.
Terrence Cody is under investigation for animal cruelty, Elise Armacost, the director of media and communications for Baltimore County police, told The Baltimore Sun.
The Ravens had reported Friday thsat they were planning on terminating McCoy's contract after the Super Bowl and now we have a reason. Apparently, there are questions surrounding the death of McCoy's dog. According to McCoy's agent, his client took the dog to the vet for treatment where the dog subsequently died. But the reasons for the dog actually needing treatment are now under investigations. McCoy's agent says the Ravens are jumping the gun here, but Baltimore had had enough black eyes recently and they obviously want to cut ties with as much trouble as they can.
Ravens will terminate contract of DT Terrence Cody after the Super Bowl.
The 26-year old defensive tackle spent much of the season on the PUP list with a hip injury and saw time in just one game all year. As strictly a depth play, he's more than expendable as the Ravens will try to make some tweaks to their roster.
