Bjoern Werner
Player News
The Jaguars have released former Colts first-round pick Bjorn Werner.
Werner played in just 10 games for the Colts in 2015, and did not start once. Jacksonville is not exactly brimming with talent on defense, and if Werner couldn't catch on there, his chances of finding a new team are not great.
Free-agent DE Bjoern Werner signed with the Jaguars.
Werner played in 10 games last year with the Colts but recorded just 13 tackles with one fumble recovery. He will serve as depth and as a special teamer for the Jaguars.
Former Colts OLB Bjoern Werner has cleared waivers and is now an unrestricted free agent.
Werner was a former first round pick of the Colts who maybe a worse decision than spending a first round pick to trade for Trent Richardson. He played in 38 games for Indianapolis and managed just 6.5 sacks and now it's the end of his run for the Colts. If he gets picked up it won't be for much more than flier money as he still has a lot to prove in the NFL.
Colts released LB Bjoern Werner.
Werner was taken in the the 1st round back in 2013 but he never lived up to his potential and last season saw him play just 10 games while totaling 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Given his draft pedigree he will likely find a new home where a team will hope their system will bring out his talent.
