Washington cut veteran LB Desmond Bishop
The oft-injured Bishop is now looking for a new employer for the 2016 season. Bishop, now 31, has played six games since the conclusion of the 2011 season, including none in 2015. Bishop had two awesome years with Green Bay in 2010-'11, but we won't get to see that type of performance from him again. Especially after all of the injuries.
49ers reached injury settlement with Desmond Bishop.
The 49ers finished their final cuts over the weekend and one of the final moves was putting Desmond Bishop on injured reserve on Monday. The hand injury that he suffered required surgery and cost him much of the preseason. The team reached an injury settlement with Bishop which would make him an unrestricted free agent.
49ers placed LB Desmond Bishop on injured reserve, ending his season.
Signed to a one year deal this off season, Bishop was likely to wind up on special teams for the niners to begin the season but obviously that won't be happening now. With roster cuts happening this week it is likely he could be cut and given an injury settlement for his troubles.
49ers signed former Packers LB Desmond Bishop to a one-year contract.
The Cardinals waived Desmond Bishop back in December and shortly thereafter the 49ers signed him. He played in just two games in San Francisco but impressed enough to be re-signed by the club. He will be 31 before the start of the season and will have to fight for a spot on special teams.
