Former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis is considering a comeback for the 2016 season.
After announcing his retirement in March, Willis is already itching to return as rumors are circulating he's interested in a comeback for the 2016 season. Willis retired with two years remaining on his contract. He'll be 31 by the time next season and maybe this year off has done him some good, mentally and physically.

Chronic toe problems seem to have taken their toll on Willis enough to send him packing for good. He was a five-time, first-team All-Pro linebacker and a staple of San Francisco's strongest defensive squads. He will be greatly missed by the team.

Willis turned 30 in January and he managed to play just six games in 2014 before a toe injury ended his season. This is sad news for Willis, but the San Francisco defense should be just fine as Chris Borland filled in admirably for Willis and led the team with 107 total tackles and 11 tackles for a loss.

While that\'s good to know, it means absolutely nothing to fantasy owners right now. He\'s on injured reserve and done for the year, so while we wish him the best, we\'ve got bigger fish to fry.
