Chronic toe problems seem to have taken their toll on Willis enough to send him packing for good. He was a five-time, first-team All-Pro linebacker and a staple of San Francisco's strongest defensive squads. He will be greatly missed by the team.

Willis turned 30 in January and he managed to play just six games in 2014 before a toe injury ended his season. This is sad news for Willis, but the San Francisco defense should be just fine as Chris Borland filled in admirably for Willis and led the team with 107 total tackles and 11 tackles for a loss.
