Brandon Spikes

Spikes had previously played for the Bills back in 2014, where he recorded 32 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. The 28-year-old didn't play at all last season after he was signed by the Patriots and was subsequently released after a hit-and-run incident in June. Spikes has always been a talented run-stopper but his attitude and his outspokenness has gotten him in hot water over the last few years.

He was out of the league last season after being released by the Patriots following a June hit-and-run arrest. He still has to serve a four-game suspension before he can take the field again but you'd have to hope that his off-the-field issues are behind him. He can still be a two-down thumper against the run, and the Dolphins are lacking depth at linebacker.

Spikes is a free agent so he won't be missing any games. There's not word yet on what his suspension is for, but this won't exactly make him attractive to teams looking for help at the linebacker position.

Spikes was cut on June 8 and this situation hurts his chances of latching on with another team moving forward. Spikes has always been an off-the-field issue, even dating back to his University of Florida days.
