Trusnik is not expected to make a significant impact with the Saints as he was added for defensive depth. Expect him to be used only in extreme circumstances at this point in the season.
Vikings signed LB Jason Trusnik.
The Panthers had Trusnik in their off-season programs and training camp before being one of the finale cuts. Trusnik is an eight year veteran who had played both inside and out in the league. He spent last season with the Dolphins where he logged 397 snaps amassing 50 tackles. He played in all 16 games starting in six of them. He will be used primarily on special teams.
Free-agent LB Jason Trusnik signed a one-year deal with the Panthers.
While Trusnik did start five games for the Dolphins last season, the primary reason for this move was to add depth at linebacker and special teams. The Panthers are looking to boost their special teams play, as evidenced by the Ted Ginn, Teddy Williams and Kurt Coleman signings.
Free-agent LB Jason Trusnik is attracting interest from the Jets.
Trusnik is coming off of a solid season where he recorded 49 tackles for the Dolphins. He has been quite durable over the last five seasons, playing in all 16 games each season. If he were to join the Jets, he would fill a regular role for the team.
