Marshall was waived by the Raiders on Monday, Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune reports.
Marshall re-signed with the Raiders last week and was immediately listed as the team's No. 1 middle linebacker on the depth chart, but he ended up a healthy scratch Sunday against the Lions. The veteran linebacker will again look to latch on with a new team.
Marshall signed with the Raiders on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Marshall was let go by the Raiders before the season began, but the team brought him back to possibly have an immediate role on defense. Vontaze Burfict has been suspended for the rest of the year, so the team's only middle linebacker is Dakota Allen, who hasn't actually been deployed on defense yet. Marshall is just two years removed from his third 100-tackle season, so he's in line to start as soon as Sunday's game against the Lions.
The Raiders released Marshall on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 29-year-old linebacker signed an incentive-heavy contract in March, hoping to compete for a starting job. Marshall at least gets some time to try to find a new team before Week 1.
Marshall returned to the practice field at training camp Saturday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Marshall, who missed a batch of workouts earlier in the offseason, should be at full strength throughout the preseason as he enters his eighth year in the league. It'll be his first with the Raiders, however, and he'll battle Jason Cabinda for the starting spot at middle linebacker.
