Carl Bradford

Bradford spent time with the Packers earlier this season as he appeared in four games for the team. He didn't make any sort of real impact as he made just one tackle. The 49ers are depleted and simply need bodies at this point.

He was waived to clear room on the roster for Joe Callahan, who will serve as the third quarterback on Sunday against the Bears.

With Justin Perillo released by the team earlier it opened a slot up on the active roster so Bradford was signed off the practice squad. Green Bay needs some depth with Clay Matthews expected to return Sunday. Perillo became expendable once it became clear that Jared Cook would be able to play.

A former fourth round pick in 2014, he has failed to live up to expectations, although he was doing much better this preseason. The Bradford era is now apparently over in Green Bay, and he can look to showcase his improved play this preseason while looking for a new team.
