Marcus Smith
Player News
Smith (hamstring/groin) compiled one tackle during Thursday's 23-13 preseason loss to the Bengals.
Smith looks fully recovered from his hamstring and groin injuries. He played 39 snaps on defense Thursday. The 2014 first-round pick is battling for a depth role in Washington.
Smith (hamstring/groin) was unable to participate in Wednesday's practice, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
It's unclear how Smith picked up the injury, but it's serious enough to hold him out of practice. The 2014 first-round pick will miss out on valuable snaps in the meantime, as he battles for a depth role in Washington's defense for 2019.
Smith signed a contract with the Redskins on Thursday.
Smith was waived by Washington on Dec. 15, but he now rejoins the team's active roster following the placement of Colt McCoy (lower leg) on injured reserve. The 26-year-old will serve a depth role during Sunday's tilt against the Eagles.
Marcus Smith (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday.
He is dealing with what's being described as a sore shoulder that has kept him out a bit this week. He has played the last few weeks so it's not a major thing he's suffering through. Though on the field, he hasn't really had much if any of an impact of the game and that will likely continue this week as well.
