James Laurinaitis
Player News
James Laurinaitis is working out for the Lions on Monday.
Laurinaitis was a stalwart on the Rams' defense for years before signing with the Saints this past offseason. The veteran linebacker has struggled with injuries this season and not been active since Week 8. The Saints cut ties with Laurinaitis and now he is looking for a new employer. The Lions have been dealing with a lack of depth at linebacker due to injuries.
Saints waived James Laurinaitis with an injury settlement.
Laurinaitis hasn't played in a game since Week 4 when he went down with a quad injury and has been on IR for a month and a half or so. This move clears up the roster a bit for a guy who was a disaster for his brief time in the Crescent City. He should get another look somewhere else, however thats likely all it will be at this point.
Saints are expected to release James Laurinaitis off injured reserve if deem healthy.
After a recurring quad injury, the New Orleans Saints placed linebacker James Laurinaitis on the teams injured reserve. Before finding his way there, the 29 year old showed great leadership, and played well, but couldn't keep himself on the field. On Tuesday it was announced that the Saints plan to release Laurinaitis, if after his visit with a doctor he is deemed healthy. His release would make him a free agent, and able to sign with another team.
Saints place John Laurinaitis on injured reserve.
James Laurinaitis injured his quad in last week's game. Since then he has missed every practice this week, but being places on the injured reserve comes as a slight surprise. This news will undoubtedly hurt the already subpar Saints defense. As usual, offensive weapons will be ideal targets in fantasy when facing New Orleans.
