The pass-rushing role player was signed in May after registering seven sacks in 17 appearances for the Bills last season. It thins the Texans' depth on the edge. Addison should probably be ready to return when first eligible in Week 5. 

Addison will be 35 in September but continues to produce despite his advanced age. After spending seven seasons in Carolina, Addison went to Buffalo to reunite with coach Sean McDermott the past two years. He recorded 12 sacks for the Bills across 32 games and has 67 career quarterback takedowns. In Houston, Addison will reunite with ex-Bills DL coach Jacques Cesaire and gives the Texans a solid veteran presence.

The Seahawks also hosted safety Damontae Kazee for a visit. Addison's role has decreased in recent years but he still offers solid pass-rushing numbers, totaling seven sacks and as many QB hits in 2021. Now 34 years old, Addison would play a rotational role for Seattle. The Seahawks ranked 20th in sacks per game and 26th in pressure rate last year. Even if Addison is only playing two-thirds of the team's defensive snaps, his presence would be a boost for Seattle's middling defensive line. 

Signed to a three-year deal last March, Addison restructured this offseason, voiding the 2022 season. There’s still a chance Buffalo moves on after drafting rookies Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham in the first two rounds. Addison, 34 in September, was limited to five sacks in 2020 and seems likely to decline from his 56% snap rate. Addison’s $6 million dead-cap hit would make for an unlikely cap casualty. Buffalo can save $2.1 million from his release.
