Jeremy Mincey announced his retirement from the NFL.
Former Jaguars DE and most recent Cowboy Jeremy Mincey has announced Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL after 96 career games. The 32 year old recorded 216 combined tackles and 26 sacks in that time.
Jeremy Mincey underwent surgery to repair his right elbow.
Mincey was limited by the elbow injury for most of the season. He had just 19 tackles and zero sacks in 14 games, but he could be much better next season if this surgery helps him put his injury behind him.
Coach Jason Garrett said he anticipates DE Jeremy Mincey being active for the regular-season finale against Washington.
After missing Week 16's game, Mincey will mot likely be active for the final game of the season. Mincey's mostly been in a backup role and has had a disappointing season. He only has 18 tackles and one pass deflection.
Jeremy Mincey is inactive for Week 16.
Jeremy Mincey has found himself in more of a depth role and sub-package player this year. He has only recorded 18 total tackles this year and his absence shouldn't have the Tony Romo-like effect on the Cowboys. The Cowboys are in a lost season and have nothing to play for, other than a draft position for, possibly, a future quarterback.
