Lamarr Houston
Player News
Houston signed a one-day contract Wednesday to retire as a member of the Raiders.
Houston hasn't seen game action since 2017 but made his retirement official this week. The eight-year veteran spent time with the Raiders, Bears and Texans, and he totaled 302 tackles, 30 tackles, five forced fumbles and one interception in 100 career games.
Lamarr Houston (knee) was placed on injured reserve.
A tough break for Houston, who is coming off a season where he recorded eight sacks and 42 tackles for the Bears. He will try to get back to form in 2017 as he recovers from an ACL tear.
Bears are not placing Lamarr Houston (ACL) on the Injured Reserve at this point.
John Fox confirmed that Lamarr Houston tore his ACL but has refrained from putting him on Injured Reserve for the time being. Houston has suffered significant knee injuries in two out of the last three seasons, and his injury is a big blow for the Bears as he recorded eight sacks for the team in 2015. The injury should end his 2016 season, so it's interesting that Fox hasn't opted to put him on IR yet, but we should know more about his decision over the next couple of days.
An MRI confirmed a torn ACL for Bears DE Lamarr Houston.
The Bears suffered significant injuries on both sides of the ball in last night's game against the Eagles, losing Cutler and linebacker Danny Trevathan. The worst of the bunch being a season-ending injury to Lamarr Houston. The Bears were already thin at linebacker so they'll have to look to add someone to the roster now that Houston is out. Chicago is lining up to be a good fade target in DFS as their personnel has been depleted.
