There are no official reports as to why Lawson was suspended, but if he is signed he'll serve one for two games. Lawson was released by the Bills earlier in September.
Bills to release Manny Lawson Friday.
Lawson is one of the first highly notable players to be cut - wherever he lands next, the acquiring team will probably not have him for one game as he's facing a potential suspension from the league for a domestic violence dispute. There's a chance Buffalo brings him back but the veteran defensive end will probably have a handful of suitors.
Manny Lawson may see some reps this week at practice before Thursday's preseason finale.
It will be good for the Bills to see him in game action before the season begins. They are still dealing with the fact that Lawson is reportedly facing a one-game suspension for violating the personal conduct policy. It stems from a domestic violence allegation back in 2014, but the league says there is another incident they are investigating. Lawson should still be expected to miss Week 1.

His return to practice on Tuesday from a partially torn pec muscle also brought with it yet more bad news for the already beleaguered Bills defense. It is unknown exactly how the pass rusher got himself the suspension to begin with or how it is just the lone game but he will miss Week 1 nevertheless. That means it will be essentially the second team defense on the field when the Bills open the season in the second week of September between all of the injuries and suspensions. Lawson should be fully ready to go by Week 2 however.
