Armonty Bryant

Bryant has had a rough season in 2016 with two different suspensions handed down by the league and now an undiagnosed knee injury that has ended his campaign. He played in five games and logged three sacks with five total tackles in that span. He will be a free agent in the impending offseason and it's unlikely that he'll be back in Detroit.

With Bryant added to the activ roster, the Lions pass rush defense should improve. It's difficult to want to alter expectations too much from this though, since we aren't sure what his role will be after a prolonged absence.

The former seventh-round pick will miss the Lions next three games due to violating the league's substance-abuse policy. The 26-year-old has been active for just four games so far in 2016, but he's recorded three sacks and four tackles in that timespan, and his absence will certainly not help a Lions defense that has been a sieve all year long.

The Lions have added former Brown Armonty Bryant to their team. He recorded 5.5 sacks with the Browns in 2015, but was placed on the exempt list for using PEDs. The Lions think he can keep clean and have given him another shot in the NFL.
