Willie Young
Player News
Willie Young (knee) is questionable for Week 5 against the Colts.
Young signed a two year extension in the offseason and he turned 31 in September. Hopefully age isn't catching up with the veteran, he is questionable with a knee injury for week 5 against the Colts.
Bears have signed Willie Young to a two-year contract extension through the 2018 season.
The former seventh round pick finally received his extension after serious talks back in May. Young was unnoticeable through the first half of last season, however the second half is where he took off. He recorded an interception in week 10, and proceeded to record a sack in each of the next five games. That's quite a solid stretch, the Bears pass rush is looking to be much improved next season.
Bears are reportedly working on a contract extension for Willie Young.
The Bears would love to get this done soon, as they would then have a very nice pass rush rotation set up for the next few years between Pernell McPhee, Lamar Houston, first-round pick Leonard Floyd, and the aforementioned Young.
Bears LB Willie Young asked for a trade after Jared Allen was dealt.
This could be the beginning of several more moves made by the organization to clear up space in what is already basically a lost season. Despite the win today, the Bears are headed for a dismal year and players like Young want to jump ship before it gets too deep.
