Arthur Jones (groin) placed on injured reserve.
Arthur Jones has been taken off the exemption list.
Jones must have shown that his conditioning was up to snuff, after sitting out with a suspension, as the team had a one-week exemption available before activating him. He should immediately step in as a top DE that can help shore up the Colt defensive line.
Arthur Jones has been suspended four games for violating NFL performance enhancing drug policy.
Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Arthur Jones missed all of the 2015 season with an ankle injury. Now he will miss the first four games of the 2016 season for failing the leagues test on performance enhancing drugs. In 2014 Jones signed a five year $33 million contract with the colts, and since then has only played nine games. THeir hopes are that he'll add another twelve this season starting in week five against the Chicago Bears.
Chuck Pagano said he hopes defensive lineman Arthur Jones will be ready for the start of training camp
It was back in last September when the DT underwent the knife to repair torn ligaments in his ankle but he is still trying to recover from that procedure. He signed a five-year $33 million dollar pact back in 2014 but has played in just nine games since that signing making it top priority for the Colts to get a reduced salary agreed to for him, which has happened. We are still a couple of months away from training camp so there is hope but that would put his recovery time at nearly a year and may cause him to start camp with a limited role in place. When he is on the field his a solid piece up the middle for a middling Colts defense.
