Michael Sam will try one last time to make an NFL roster.
After being selected in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Sam has yet to any type of on-field impact in the league.
Cowboys waive Michael Sam, according to the team’s website.
Sam hasn\'t been used by the Cowboys at all and while he may have a bit of potential as a part-time pass rusher, he simply doesn\'t fit well in the Dallas system. Someone may claim him off waivers, but any NFL impact is a long shot.
Update: Michael Sam has passed his physical and was officially added to the practice squad.
Sam had a solid camp for himself, but the Rams defense is strong, young, and deep. There simply wasn\'t any room for him. He\'ll join the Cowboys practice squad and work his way up from there.
Michael Sam headed to Dallas for a physical and if all is well will sign with Cowboys practice squad.
SO tired of this story, his sexual preference shouldn\'t make him any more newsworthy than any other player that is fighting for a roster spot. However, the Cowboys are brutal on defense so Sam could end up getting some playing with them.
