Jonathan Massaquoi

Well everyone was sitting around anxiously awaiting to see which DE the Kansas City Chiefs were going to cut, they went and did it. Or, no one cared. With cuts the common theme this time of year, Massaquoi could get some work on a practice squad.

He will have a long road ahead of him to try and make what is a very good defensive roster, especially with being out of the league in 2015 following his cut from the Titans in camp. This is nothing more than a depth signing for Kansas City.

He may not make minicamp either, but there's a good chance he returns for the start of training camp. Massaquoi will compete for a role on the defensive line this season.

Considering his release only saves about $600K for the Falcons, this was more about the former 2012 fifth-round pick's lack of development. They were hoping he was going to turn into a strong pass-rusher but he's lacked that burst of speed through and around the line to help him get to the quarterback. He'll get picked up by someone and he'll have to re-establish himself all over again.
