Cardinals DL Red Bryant has been released.
DT Olsen Pierre edged out veteran Red Bryant for one of the final defensive line spots on Arizona's 53-man roster. Bryant is 32 years old with a lot of mileage on his knees, but he still could be added to another team for DL depth and veteran leadership.
Red Bryant (Achilles) is not practicing on Saturday.
As Cardinals training camp got underway Friday, one of the names not on the field was DL Red Bryant. Bryant who is suffering from an achilles strain, will also not practice Saturday. Bryant is in the midst of competing for a starting role along with Frostee Rucker, and no details are out yet about how serious this strain is.
Cardinals have re-signed Red Bryant on Monday.
The Cardinals signed Red Bryant back in November to help deal with injuries issues to their defensive line. Cory Redding and Frostee Rucker both were dealing with ankle injuries. Bryant was able to provide the Cardinals with a solid run-stuffing option and they felt like he was worth bringing back for depth on the defensive line.

This is already the third team Bryant has been with this season as the 31-year old defensive lineman is nothing more than added depth and always the roster casualty when the team needs roster room. At least he gets to spend his Thanksgiving knowing that he is still employed.
