Texans will re-sign Antonio Smith on Wednesday once the team places J.J. Watt on injured reserve.
Smith recorded 2.5 sacks in 2015 and appeared in all 16 games. He will try and make up some of J.J. Watt's production, but finding anyone to come close would be impossible. He will not figure to have much of an impact in Watt's absence.
Antonio Smith will play play in the Super Bowl on Sunday despite the death of his father.
Smith picked up 2.5 sacks across 16 regular-season games for the Broncos this season and adds important depth to the defensive line.
Antonio Smith was excused from practice to attend a family funeral.
Smith will return to the team within a few days. His absence will not affect his status with the team whatsoever. He will remain a rotating defensive end this season.
