Matt Shaughnessy

Another notable name on the cut list this Tuesday for the New Orleans Saints is DE Matt Shaughnessy. Although just recently going the team at the beginning of training camp, he didn't do enough to impress and keep him on the 75 man roster.

Shaughnessy last played in 2014 for the Cardinals which saw him total just 17 tackles over eight games. He will add a veteran presence to the Saints camp but is a long shot to make the roster.

Shaughnessy missed all of last season with an undisclosed injury and missed half of 2014 with a knee injury. Knowing that, it doesn't seem likely he will have a big impact on any team he signs with.

Shaughnessy was fighting for a back-up job behind Frostee Rucker, but has apparently lost out to Ed Stinson. He will try and latch on with another club over the next couple of days.
