Saints released DL Margus Hunt.
Hunt, signed in April, played in all four games with the Saints before being released prior to kick-off Monday night. He registered three tackles and one quarterback hit across 94 snaps this year. There's a chance he lands on the team's practice squad moving forward.
Saints agreed to terms with DL Margus Hunt, formerly of the Colts, on a one-year contract.
Going on 33, Hunt not only failed to register a sack for the Colts last season, but a quarterback hit. Hunt resuscitated what had been a bust of a career in Indy, but age seems to have caught up fast with a player who entered the league as an ancient 26-year-old rookie in 2013. Hunt will not be guaranteed to make the Saints' extremely deep 53-man roster.

Colts released DE Margus Hunt.
Hunt's release clears $4 million off of the Colts' books for the 2020 season. It was a no-brainer move after Hunt failed to rack up a single quarterback hit or tackle for loss across 16 games last year. Hunt should have a soft market as he heads into his age-33 season.
