Junior Galette

Galette's bad luck has continued as he tore his Achilles tendon today during a workout and will miss the entire 2016 season. Galette tore the Achilles tendon in his other leg last year and ended up missing all of the 2015 season as well. It's unfortunate for Galette who claimed he was in the best shape of his life and at one point looked to be one of the better pass rushers in the league. He will be a free agent after this season and it will be interesting to see if another team takes a gamble on him given his extensive injury history.

Though Galette has been steadily progressing from the torn Achilles that kept him out all of last season, the Redskins are understandably taking no unnecessary risks with the talented pass rusher. Galette racked up a combined 22.0 sacks for the Saints between 2013-'14 and hopes to return to that form in 2016.

Galette is re-signing with Washington. He has never appeared in a game for them after he signed with them last offseason and injured his Achilles in a preseason practice. But Washington liked what he could bring to their pass rush and have resigned him hoping to actually get it from his this season. He spend the first five seasons of his career with New Orleans and recorded double digit sacks with the Saints in 2013 and 2014.

It seems to be going around as Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins did the same thing as well. Galette was rumored to be re-signing with the Redskins last week, but obviously negotiations have not been going to the linebacker's liking. He now has to wait five days before hiring new representation. How that will affect his current negotiations with the team is not yet known.
