Dolphins waived DE Jason Jones.
The Dolphins are just two days away from their playoff game against the Steelers which makes this move quite surprising. He was part of the defensive line rotation recording 3.5 sacks. Maybe there is more to the story on why he was waived so stay tuned.
Jason Jones has been suspended two games by the NFL for violating the leagues substances abuse program.
After being moved into the Dolphins rotation this year, Jones won't be playing for the next two games. Nick Williams will move up to second string at the DE position. No fantasy sports influence here.
Dolphins are reportedly close to a deal with DE Jason Jones.
The deal will reportedly be signed on Monday in Miami with the length of the deal being one-year in length. Jones will add depth to a pass rushing attack that was lackluster at best last season as he will join Cameron Wake, Mario Williams, and Andre Branch already on the roster. Jones played in 15 games in 2015 registering 4.5 sacks and 31 tackles for the Lions.
Dolphins have signed Jason Jones to a one-year deal.
Jones has spent the last three seasons as a starter with the Lions, and should serve as a back up player on the Dolphins' line.
