David Johnson
Player News
Steelers have signed TE David Johnson.
Johnson is returning to Pittsburgh with the signing, where he spent the first four years of his career. He is however now the fourth tight end on the Steelers roster meaning he will have a hard time breaking camp with the squad. He is mainly known as a blocking tight end which also doesn't give him a lot of options to show what he can do.
David Johnson missed practice Wednesday with a shoulder injury.
The severity of Johnson\'s injury is unknown, but he status for Sunday is uncertain. Johnson, the third string tight end behind Antonio Gates and Ladarius Greem, likely won\'t see much of the field on Sunday anyway, if he can play.
Chargers have signed tight end David Johnson, previously with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 26-year-old has had 22 catches for 216 yards and one touchdown in his 52 career games. He hopes to make the roster as a blocking specialist.
Steelers TE David Johnson finished the season on injured reserved after just playing in five games.
