Matt Hazel
Player News
The Browns signed Hazel off the Colts' practice squad Wednesday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. Hazel was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Hazel will take the spot of fellow receiver Bryce Treggs, who was waived Wednesday in a corresponding move. The Browns likely wouldn't have added Hazel to the 53-man roster if his injury was a serious concern, so it shouldn't impact his availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Instead, Hazel's low standing on the depth chart and lack of familiarity with the playbook will likely prove to be more significant obstacles to him earning an active status for the contest.
Redskins signed Matt Hazel to the practice squad.
On Tuesday the Redskins announced roster moves, and a notable one was the signing of WR Matt Hazel to their practice squad. The Coastal Carolina product was a sixth round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Bills released WR Matt Hazel from the practice squad.
The former Coastal Carolina wideout also was cut from the Dolphins just before the season began, and will look to catch on again with another team. No fantasy impact here.
Dolphins have released Matt Hazel on Saturday.
After a solid start to the preseason, including a 51 yard TD reception in the week one game against the Giants, it appears that WR Matt Hazel's time with the Miami Dolphins has come to an end, as he was released on Saturday. Hazel who was in his third training with the Dolphins since being drafted in 2014, never really had an opportunity to shine with Miami. He will now navigate the waters of the waiver wire, and see if he draws any interest from other teams.
