Jerome Simpson

Simpson wasn't on anyone's fantasy radar heading into the year anyway, so this isn't any groundbreaking news. He played only five games last year, catching five balls for 54 yards and a touchdown. Even if he latches on to another team, his days of fantasy relevance have passed.

Simpson managed to cross into the end zone for the first time in 2015, despite logging just two catches for 20 yards in another 49ers loss. With both Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin ahead of him on the depth chart, there is little chance Simpson ever regains the fantasy value he once had while being a member of both the Bengals and the Vikings now that he is more of a role player at the age of 29.

Simpson made his season debut on Sunday and was quickly a factor in the 49ers offense as he led all receivers with 10 targets. However, he converted just three of those targets for 34 yards, so it is hard to imagine Colin Kaepernick will continue looking his way with that low of a conversion rate, but this is still a situation worth keeping an eye on in the upcoming weeks.
