Robert Meachem
Player News
Robert Meachem will workout for the Saints on Friday.
It's been almost a year (over 10 months) since we last heard from Meachem when he worked out for the Detroit Lions. The 31-year-old receiver spent last season out of the league and only caught seven passes for the New Orleans Saints in 2014 as a rotational deep threat. It's hard to say how good he'll look at this point of his career, but New Orleans obviously thinks he's worth giving a look at to see what he has left in the tank for them.
Robert Meachem will work out for the Lions on Tuesday.
Once considered a potential deep threat, Meachem has stunk it up at every stop he's made in the NFL thus far. Even if he makes the Lions team, he's not going to be a worthwhile fantasy player.
Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem (ankle) could see his first action in four weeks Monday against the Bears.
Meachem is a big play threat, and with the state of the Chicago defense, that could result in some production although it must be kept in mind that he is only the third option in the passing game on the wide receiver chart, and probably no better than the fifth option overall when Jimmy Graham and Pierre Thomas are put in the mix.
WR Robert Meachem (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night.
Meachem looks to be a game time decision. With Brandin Cooks out for the season, if he does play, he could see more targets than the limited numbers he has been seeing this season so far. He is still more of a boom or bust player, and you need to be desperate to start him in fantasy.
